Why I Chose Web Development?

As an analytical thinker I always wanted a career where I could approach problems in a systemically way. I originally started out with a degree in Chemistry but eventually lost interest. Years later I decided to research a new career journey in web development. I began doing free coding tutorials and found out that I actually really liked what I wad doing. I always had love for internet marketing and when I figured out I could actually make the websites I wanted to market it was a no brainer. So I decided to enroll at Wake Tech Community College.

Artificial Intelligence or AI has been the topic of discussion for the past decade. It is defined as the intelligence demonstrated by machines instead of the natural intelligence displayed by humans. This technology has so much potential and can dramatically improve all things tech. The future of AI is very hopeful because not only does it help reduce human error, it also creates more precise analytics.  But just like with any technology advancement the good also comes with the bad.

Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai noted AI as “one of the most promising new technologies.” He also brings to attention the possible safety issues that could arise with this technology. Pichai believes that AI should be regulated because it could result in someone one using AI in a harmful way.   I too agree that there needs to be rules in place because if there isn’t people could use AI to create all sorts of crimes. Imagine getting robbed by a robot, that would be pretty scary.

Progression in software development is a good thing right?

  • Software roles such as data engineers are in high demand
  • Creates a more competitive environment where developers are eager to stay current on trends

Soon developers may start to see machines and AI capturing their behaviors. Some believe that AI can assist developers by preventing mistakes and bringing the efficiency needed to free up developer schedules.

While growth can be scary and intimidating at times I do think that the technology presented will become very useful. To all of my software developers don’t be afraid of change adapt to it. If you notice new machinery coming out learn the skills to work alongside. At the end of the day AI is great but there will always be a need for human employees in some form or fashion.

Check out this article that talks more on detail on the 2020 outlook for software development.
